Inner Science Profile

西村 尚美によるソロ・ユニット。浸透するように透明できらびやかな音色とメロディー、そこに拮抗する振り幅の広いリズムを操り、色彩豊かで独特な世界観のインストゥルメンタル/エレクトロニックミュージックを産み出す。それら自作楽曲の音色がフロア中を満たす没入感あふれるライブと、様々な楽曲を大胆に紡ぐスタイルのDJプレイを各地で展開中。

近年では、Black Smoker Recordsのリリース音源のみを使用したサウンドコラージュ作品「Black Assembles」、オリジナル楽曲を2曲収録したデジタルシングル「Single Compression 4」、自身のアンビエントミュージックをコンパイルした楽曲集「Ambient Variation」、自作音によるサウンドコラージュ集「Assembles 9-12」をそれぞれリリース。また、イタリアの音楽家・Gigi Masinによる名曲「Clouds」や、アンビエントユニット・Unknown Me「Blended Screen」のリミックス制作、日本の町工場をレーベル化するプロジェクト・INDUSTRIAL JPへの参加や、HMVのコンピレーション『幻の湖』に楽曲がライセンス収録されるなど、さまざまなリリース活動も継続中。

A solo project by Masumi Nishimura. In which he creates an original kind of electronic music using his signature shimmering tones and melodies along with a wide spectrum of rhythms that is uncategorisable to conventional genres. In his performance, he plays his own materials by editing and applying dub mix on the fly, or DJs with broad selection of records that reflects his diverse musical tastes, not only in clubs and live venues, but also in multimedia/ art events, as well as at open air parties catering many types of audiences day and night.
